[XO Ruby came to Toronto](https://www.xoruby.com/event/toronto/?ref=jvrc.ca) last weekend, and it was a great opportunity to spend some time together with other people working with Ruby. It was also great to meet new people and spend time with friends.

My top 3 talks were:

1. The man who built a brain - [Paolo Perrotta](https://bsky.app/profile/paoloperrotta.bsky.social?ref=jvrc.ca)
2. Don't make your developers think about Observability - [Roel Bondoc](https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:2kdhwj2oa73dt632qxtmqyxe?ref=jvrc.ca)
3. One monolith, two countries - [Kristine McBride](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristine-mcbride/?ref=jvrc.ca)

But most importantly, I connected face to face with other people to talk about current challenges, projects, and ideas in the hallway track, during lunch breaks, or over dinner after the conference. I'm convinced that we should talk more to each other at every opportunity.

I agree with Jim that the event was a [massive success,](https://lnkd.in/p/e5tABu9a?ref=jvrc.ca) and I can't wait to repeat the experience next year.

[New York City](https://www.xoruby.com/event/new-york-city/?ref=jvrc.ca) and [Montreal](https://www.xoruby.com/event/montreal/?ref=jvrc.ca) are next, with a great lineup of speakers. Don’t miss them if you can.
